Niektórzy odkryli w Łowcy ponownie klasę Amazonki z Diablo 2. Łowca jest jedynym Charem, który naprawdę porządnie wyrządza DPS na odległość. Z łukiem, kuszą lub „firearm” (bronią palną) jako bronią główną Łowca jest w stanie załatwić swojego przeciwnika zanim zdąży on się w ogóle zbliżyć. Aby zapewnić sobie dystans, zastawia on pułapki, które mogą zamrozić czy też spowolnić całe grupy potworów. Jeśli jednak któryś z przeciwników dobierze mu się do skóry, może on pozostać spokojny, gdyż jest on całkiem wytrzymały: także Łowca może nosić cieżką zbroję (co prawda dopiero od poziomu 40).
Nie powinien on jednak rzucać się w wir walki wręcz bez zastanowienia! Do tego ma on swoich pomocników: Łowca jest jedynym, który umie oswajać zwierzeta i używać ich jako Pet (Kot, Raptor, Osa, Mol, Goryl, Ptak drapieżny, Wąż, Pająk, Nietoperz i wiele więcej). Zwierzęta mają indywidualne drzewka umiejętności. Sięgnij np. po Niedźwiedzia jako Tank, lub po Tygrysa by porządnie narozrabiać. I ponieważ Łowca tak dobrze rozumie się ze zwierzętami, może on także przyjąć zwierzęce cechy (aspekty zwierzęce), które przynoszą mu dodatkowe bonusy. Kiedy wszystko inne zawodzi, kładzie się on i udaje po prostu nieżywego i wstaje dopiero wtedy, kiedy atmosfera się nieco oczyściła.
Wyspecjalizuj Twojego Łowcę
Beast Mastery (Opanowanie bestii): Masz dobre serce dla zwierząt? Z tym drzewkiem możesz wzmocnić Twoje Zwierzę poprzez bonusy zycia, szkód i zbroi lub też ulepszyć Twoje aspekty zwierzęce. Wylecz Twoje Zwierzę, powołaj je ponownie do życia i zatroszcz się o ulepszoną regenerację dla jeszcze większej ilości szkód. Szczyt miłości do zwierząt osiągniesz jednak przy pomocy „Beast Mastery”: oswój egzotyczne zwierzęta i podnieś o 4 Twój poziom punktów umiejętności Twojego Zwierzęcia!
Marksmanship (Strzelectwo): Jesteś zazdrosny o to, że Twoje Zwierzę wyrządza więcej szkód od Ciebie? Jeśli tak, to Marksmanship jest odpowiednim dla Ciebie drzewkiem – tutaj wszystkie umiejętności władania bronią zostaną ulepszone. Także szkody oraz Critical Strike mogą zostać powiększone lub też wszystkie koszty Mana umiejętności strzeleckich obniżone o 15%! W PvP do ulubieńców należy „Silencing Shot”, który sprawia że przeciwnik milczy przez 3 sekundy (uniknięcie zaklęć!) Super zakończeniem jest Chimer Shot – gwarantuje on plus szkody, odświeża efekt „Serpent Sting” i zwraca Ci 5% Twojego zdrowia.
Survival (Przetrwanie): Dla wojowników na odległość, miłośników przetrwania oraz zastawców pułapek. Jak widać drzewko to służy do ulepszenia walki wręcz – jeśli chcesz grać wydajnie Twoim Łowcą, nie powinieneś go jednak przeistaczać w mistrza walki wręcz, nie został on bowiem do tego stworzony. Najczęściej tylko część punktów będzie inwestowana w Pathing, by zwiększyć tempo ataku z odległości o 3%.
